Make-A-Wish “Where There's A Wish, There's A Way”

 MAKE-A-WISH “WHERE THERE’S A WISH, THERE’S A WAY”
Many people think Make-A-Wish grants last wishes. But research shows wishes can actually help kids get better.
For that very reason we wanted to cast real Wish Alumni to be the stars of our film. We even had a song co-written as part of a real wish for the spot.

The way we saw it, Wish Kids dream about their wish every night until it comes true. So we created bedspreads and pillow sets to represent these real wishes.

As the Art Director and Designer on the project I worked closely with our Illustrator to create our graphic style.

We treated each bedspread as essentially another character in the spot. Designed with fun details and easter eggs from each alumnus wish day. Hunter’s wish for example was to be a dinosaur, and not just any dinosaur, but a Red-Not-Too Scary-Spinosaurus.

For our film, we knew we wanted an original song written and performed by a Wish Kid.

When we stumbled upon Kara Kuper, who was waiting for her wish of becoming a singer to be granted, we knew she would be perfect for our spot. We connected her with our acquaintance, DJ “Wish I Was” and Universal Music Group who provided a studio space, two accomplished songwriters and a vocal coach.

For two days we got the opportunity to watch and capture Kara living her wish. The song she wrote was absolutely perfect for our spot, and seeing her get her wish was everything.
